Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality food preparation and prompt service
• Proficient in food preparation, serving and portion control
• Identify and resolve potential food service and care coordination issues in a timely manner
• Comply with health, safety and infection control practices at the state and local levels
• Promote an understanding to all staff of the importance of the Food Services department to resident quality of life
• Present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each resident’s needs
• Familiarize yourself with residents of the Community
• Observe residents and communicate potential difficulties or opportunities to the appropriate team member

Responsibilities:

• Create menus, including specials, chef stations and seasonal items
• Holding all staff accountable to high standards – hire, train and counsel as needed
• Maintain working knowledge of all State and County regulations for food service safety and licensing as well as DSS and OSHA regulations for the Assisted Living Industry
• Serve as Cook for the number of meals designated by the Executive Director
• Demonstrate appropriate inventory planning, use preferred vendors
• Demonstrate knowledge and use of ordering systems, shipping and receiving, inventory management and stock rotation
• Maintain the Dining Room assuring cleanliness and maximum accommodation for residents and staff; complete cleaning after each meal service and proper table settings
• Present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each resident’s needs

The Dishwasher is responsible for performing various kitchen cleaning and storage activities such as but not limited to dish washing, pot washing, general and equipment cleaning, storage and rotation of food and supplies. Responsible for janitorial duties in various dining services areas such as Dining Room, Bistro and other areas associated as a Dining Activity. Responsible for handling all foods, storage and cleaning activities in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food storage, cleaning and preparation.
