Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the operations of the dining services department
  • Actively preparing meals, ordering food, planning the menu, checking in food delivery, and managing dietary needs
  • Ensuring that equipment is maintained and that safety and sanitation guidelines are followed
  • Training, managing and scheduling of staff to ensure that excellent customer service is provided
  • Ensuring that food is prepared and presented in an appetizing manner

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 8 years of food service staff management and budget experience, preferably in a senior care setting
  • Excellent experience and ability in all phases of food preparation, dining room operations and dining delivery services
  • The ability to build and train a team of staff that reflects the best of the hospitality industry, while fulfilling food safety and assisted living regulatory requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public
  • Flexibility with schedule
  • Must have compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
  • Must meet all health requirement (including TB) and pass background checks
