Job overview: 

Wentworth Manor is looking for the next great addition to our team! Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Facility Administrator is responsible for the administration, direction and coordination of all operational aspects of their assigned Manor. This requires an individual with a strong focus on leadership to ensure the efficient, effective, and safe provision of high quality care and services. As the face of The Brenda Strafford Foundation in their community, the administrator is an active participant in community programs.  

The Administrator is a member of The Foundation’s Executive Team responsible to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values and the achievement of the strategic priorities of The Foundation.  

Within the scope of this position, the Administrator takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of continuous improvement, safety of residents and clients, staff and all others and freedom from harm or injury. 

Key Areas of Responsibility:  

Operations; Planning and Program Development; Performance Management; Leadership; Innovation; Budgeting and Reporting; External Relations. 

Candidate Success Factors: 

Outstanding performance in this position will be crucial in ensuring the organization’s continued success as well as their ongoing leadership in the industry. Performance in the role will be measured by the individual’s ability to quickly learn the organization’s approach to business, and understanding and supporting its relationships within the community and across Alberta Health Services. This role will be critical in continuing to advance The Foundation’s service offerings.    

This is a permanent full-time position. The hours of work are 40 hours per week. The starting salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate at the time of offer, and extended health and dental benefits will be available after three months of employment.

The Facility Administrator must demonstrate:

- A decisive problem solver who possesses sound conflict resolution skills;

- Confident, a good listener and who has excellent communication skills – both written and verbal;

- Self-directed, moves quickly and efficiently – experienced in working within a continuously changing environment; and,

- Willing and able to lead with humility and who exhibits genuine concern for the development and mentorship of team members. 

Requirements: 

Education:

- Degree in Commerce or Business Administration or equivalent experience;

- Degree in Health Service Administration or equivalent experience would be considered an asset

- Registered Nurse or other Professional Clinical Designation would be considered an asset 

Experience:

- Successful completion of ten years progressive managerial/leadership experience;

- Demonstrated ability to lead the operations of a large facility;

- Experience in the seniors’ care sectors is considered a strong asset;

- Proven ability to support and manage new operational projects, creating enthusiasm for change;

- Proven results in quality improvement, financial management, organization development, communication and human resource management;

- Proven business acumen; the ability to see the big picture, work well with peer groups towards goal achievement.
