Job description

The Company. The Bartlett Seniors Apartments is a new model in seniors housing offering 129 affordable, self-contained apartments with a la carte service offerings.  The Bartlett is well located at the corner of Bond and Stevenson in central Oshawa, adjacent to the Oshawa Centre shopping mall and many stores, restaurants and services.  It is scheduled to open late spring 2020. The lower level of the building will be dedicated to a first of its kind Seniors Urgent Care clinic with access to retail pharmacy and supportive services, i.e. homecare.  The Bartlett is a joint venture by Hillsport Development Inc. and Chancery Seniors Housing Investments Inc. backed by seasoned professionals in retirement home development across Canada and the USA.  Our building is geared to the “young at heart” senior who is looking for an affordable and social offering in seniors housing.  Apartments are self-contained with kitchens and en suite laundry.  An on site bistro offers all day a la carte dining.  Additionally, there is a salon/spa and fitness facility on site as well as underground parking.This position is the first hire as we build our team in Oshawa.  Hours are flexible and will build to full time by the end of the year when the model suite opens and acts as the sales office.  Initial interest in the building is very high and we expect a fast lease-up (12-18 months). 

The Position. We are looking for a Leasing Manager responsible for all aspects of the leasing and move in process for residents choosing The Bartlett as their home.  The position will promote the building, the model and the clinic to the outside community for building strong relationships within Oshawa and including local seniors’ groups.  As we near opening, the Leasing Manager may also be required assist with other business related tasks. This is a contract position with compensation in lieu of benefits.  All expenses associated with the position will be reimbursed.  Future opportunities within our growing portfolio are possible. 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills Exceptional communication skills, comfortable with presenting in public Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors Self-starting with excellent time management skills and the ability to organize work efficiently Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and ability to manage a Customer Service Relationship data base Current drivers license with access to a vehicle full time 

Responsibilities: Managing the leasing process through initial email and telephone outreach, conducting tours, collecting deposits and signing leases using a designated CRM data base Ensuring a smooth move-in process by liaising with prospective residents, their families and staff as appropriate Providing information to the general public and community organizations including presentations Managing inquiries and following up on leads in a timely manner Orienting new residents upon move in to ensure a smooth transition into the community Identifying and resolving concerns and issues in a timely and effective manner Participating as a valuable and supportive member of the on and offsite team Other duties as assigned
