Job Summary:

Employee certified to administer medications, in accordance with state and federal laws, under the supervision of licensed staff to residents within Americare skilled or assisted living facilities. Provide residents with direct care to assure quality of life in a home like environment while offering additional support to family and visitors. Maintains professional behavior while functioning as an interdisciplinary team member meeting state and federal guidelines.

Supervision:

Administers medication under the supervision of licensed nurse. In some situations may be required to supervise other staff or work independently.

Critical Functions:

Administers prescribed medications to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of licensed nurse. Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug and dosage and time of administration on specified forms or records such as MAR. Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures. Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notified designated personnel of unexpected reactions.

Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered. Gives direct patient care, such as bathing, dressing and feeding of residents and assisting with prescribed treatments. May receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix or assemble drugs for administrator to resident. May record and restock medication inventories.

Job Summary:

Administers nursing program within Americare skilled or assisted living facilities to maintain quality standards of resident care and advises medical staff, department heads and administrators in matters related to nursing service: Recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Promotes working relationships with community agencies and with other establishment departments. Assists in preparation of departmental budget. Established personnel qualification requirements, drafts procedure manuals, initiates in-service programs, installs record and reporting systems and performs other personnel management tasks. Initiates studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing service in relation to their objectives and costs.

Supervision:

Under supervision of facility Administrator and or Regional Operations Director

Critical Functions:

Current state license, administration of nursing department overseeing all phases of resident services as well as nursing personnel. Works closely and communicates with facility administrator to assure that state and federal and ASI guidelines are met while providing residents with a safe living environment. Responsibility for overseeing all facets of nursing department personnel.

Job Summary:

Cleaning procedures to assure orderly attractive rooms in facility. Review schedule and communicate with co-workers as to individual assignments. Perform cleaning assignments for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness. Advises supervisor of completed assignments. May inventory stock or supplies to ensure adequate supplies. May investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action. Examines rooms, halls, and lobbies and all common areas to determine need for repairs or replacement of items and communicates to manager. Report any equipment malfunction or need of repairs to supervisor. Attend in-service training per facility requirement. Document regarding concerning work assignments, periodic reports and time card. Attend periodic staff meetings with other departments to discuss company policies, complaints and make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.

Use personal protective equipment on daily basis per policy and become familiar with lock out tag out procedures. Open communication with supervisor related to condition of building, resident or family complaints and any need for repairs. Assist in keeping cleanliness and order of facility to meet state and federal and ASI standards.

Directs and organizes such activities as sports, dramatics, games and arts and crafts to assist residents to develop interpersonal relationships, to socialize effectively, and to develop confidence needed to participate in group activities. Regulates content of program in accordance with individualized patient capabilities, needs and interests. Organizes and coordinates special outings and may accompany residents on outings. Plan and document a monthly activity event calendar. Participate in assessing and documenting pro-gress charts and periodic reports for medical staff and other members of the treatment team reflecting resident reaction and evidence of progress or regression. Network with community organizations, businesses, schools and individuals to form a solid volunteer program. Participate in planning and implementing inter-nal and external community events.

• Minimal 18 years of age, grade school education
• Familiar with lock out tag out procedures and use of personal protective equipment.
• Prefer experience in cooking, food prepping, baking, and dishwashing and equipment operation
• Prefer experience in quantity food production and experience in menu reading and preparation.
• Knowledge of meal planning, food preparation, nutrition and person centered care setting.
• To be trained in Safe Serve if required by the county in which the facility resides
• To be trained as CMA and Insulin as the classes become available
• To have at least 12 hours of in-service training per year and attend dietary in –service meetings
• Required to be trained in Alzheimer/Dementia Behavior Monitoring and communication
• Perform arithmetic and units of measurement conversions used in food preparation

Critical Functions:

Administers personal care to residents and maintains resident’s medical record. Employee responds to a variety of resident needs including answering call lights, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, monitoring and recording vital signs, monitoring and recording food intake and output, transporting via wheel chair, assisting with ambulation in a safe manner. Included is general housekeeping such as changing linens and room organization. Position includes turning, repositioning and providing proper body alignment to prevent pressure sores and to aide in comfort of resident. Employee is to assist and support professional nurses as requested. Responsible to assist resident in obtaining quality of life in a safe living environment and be supportive to resident’s family members while projecting professional behavior.

Responsible for assisting and supporting dietary staff while managing dietary department within established company policies and state and federal regulations. Responsible for fiscal operations in dietary department such as budgeting, planning and accounting for dietary services. Assist in hiring and training dietary personnel. Coordinates dietary services with disciplinary team to provide an overall person centered care in the nursing facility environment. Responsible for providing healthy, nutritious and attractive dietary meals to residents and visitors while meeting special dietary requirements.
