Qualifications:

• Must have a passion for working with people and have a warm personality
• Must be an active participant in neighbourhood life (recreation, wellness, dining, and housekeeping)
• Must demonstrate good communication skills
• Must demonstrate a commitment to ongoing education
• Must have knowledge of safe environmental practices and ability to uphold infection control protocols
• Must have Smart Serve
• Must possess current CPR/First Aid certification or be willing to obtain
• Must be able to cope with the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Agree with philosophy and purpose of Village Mission, Vision, and Values
• Work collaboratively with all team members to support Residents living in the Village
• Observe and report changes in Residents’ physical, social, and emotional health
• Communicate effectively with all Village stakeholders
• Complete and maintain documentation, as required
• Perform cleaning tasks that support daily life of Residents in the neighbourhood and throughout the Village
• Assist volunteers with meaningful volunteer assignments in the neighbourhood, as required
• Adhere to established policies and procedures

The successful candidate for this role must have a passion for serving people with varying abilities. Any personal or professional experience with individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia would be considered an asset.
