Key responsibilities include:

• Responds to any resident emergencies and incontinence situations by following proper cleaning and safety procedures.
• Responsible for the laundry, light housekeeping duties, and nightly cleaning duties.
• Responsible for the overall security and safety of the community and residents during the assigned shift
• Resolves any emergency situations which may arise and completes all paperwork and follows procedures as required
• Documents and communicates all problems or problem areas that are identified during the work shift, report any unsafe working conditions or areas.

Key responsibilities include:

• Independently facilitate and assist with the facilitation of programs and activities for residents
• Promote activity by interacting with residents to encourage participation
• Assist residents with the activity as appropriate
• Supervise and support scheduled outings away from the community
• Observe resident participation and responses during the activity
• Work as part of the Active Aging team in improving delivery of activities and services

Responsibilities:

• Creates and maintains a welcoming customer atmosphere in the dining room.
• Provides direction, leadership and supervision to all Servers, across communities, including hiring, training, performance reviews and dealing with issues and/or conflict that arises.
• Oversees the work schedules, job duty updates and vacation requests of dining room staff to ensure all shifts are staffed as required.
• Accounts for all residents at all meal times and reports any unexplained absences to the Community Resident Manager or Community Resident Assistant Manager.
• Communicates with and resolves feedback from residents regarding any serving or food quality issues and advises the Food Services Manager, Community Resident or Community Resident Assistant Manager.
• Oversees and ensures the dining areas are cleaned to Silvera standards (Policy #4.60) and ASCHA Lodge Minimum Standards of Operation.
• Required to assist in daily serving responsibilities of coffee/tea service if the department is short-staffed.
• Participates in and promotes the Health and Safety program including responsibility for updating MSDS sheets and ensuring safe work practices are developed and followed.
• Reports any unsafe work conditions to the Food Services Manager or Maintenance.
• Handles emergency procedures and act accordingly when required.
• Participates in the planning and implementation of special events.
• Attends various committees as requested by Silvera, and participates in Supported Living Accommodation Standards as required.

This is a hands-on management position that provides an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a multi-faceted role. You will be responsible for leading a team, supporting resident (seniors) needs through coordinating internal and external resources, managing the use and care of suites and facility space, promoting the safety and wellbeing of residents and employees, planning and allocating physical and human resources, and budget management.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years previous Housekeeping (or related operations) Supervisory experience is essential
• Minimum two years’ experience in the service industry
• Demonstrated management skills with a proven ability to recruit, hire and train employees
• Proven service leadership skills with the ability to inspire employees to deliver a meticulous and outstanding level of service to our residents
• Demonstrated work experience in creating and implementing Housekeeping processes
• Flexible, willing, and positive attitude, with excellent problem-solving abilities, proactive with a meticulous eye for detail
• Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment. Willingness to attend courses as requested by Silvera
• Must have current First Aid, WHMIS
• Intermediate experience with computer programs such as MS Word and Excel required
• Must be able to lift objects up to 25lbs
