Responsibilities:

• Lead volunteer based activities and programs that enrich the lives of Sunrise Assisted Living and Memory Care residents
• Collaborate with other Sunrise Department Coordinators and the Executive Director to develop and maintain relationships with local schools, businesses and social organizations to establish an active network of volunteers and community resources
• Maintain a calendar of activities and events that provide a variety of resident and family centered experiences
• Budget preparation and monitoring of expenses and financial statements to meet revenue and budget targets
• Leadership responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, coaching and retaining a high performing employee team

Responsibilities:

• Build meaningful relationships with a specified number of seniors and their families as you provide assistance with activities of daily living, attend to individual care needs and get to know their unique preferences and personalities
• Notify management of changes in condition and recommend adjustments in the level of care and service
• Assist residents in life skills and other life enriching activities as indicated on their individual profile
• Blends a variety of multi-sensory experiences into the resident's day
• Participates in the development of the Individualized Service Plans (ISP) and monthly updates
• Responsible for their designated group of residents during the shift, knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift.
• Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.
• Responds to the dining needs of the residents and guests while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards
• Invite, Encourage, Assist (IEA) residents in life skills and other life enriching activities as indicated on ISP and demographic profile

Responsibilities:

• Properly preparing dining set-up
• Providing meal and dining services and cleaning the dining rooms
• Taking meal and beverage orders and serving requested items according to established guidelines
• Handling all foods in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food service

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervises the Memory Department Staff including Caregivers and Activity Assistants. 
• Implement and maintain the systems and programs in accordance with state regulations and to Belmont Village Senior Living's standards, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures person-centered programming throughout all activity programs consistent with Belmont Village standards.
• Conducts monthly advanced dementia training for all staff and is the dementia expert for the community.
• Maintains regular and consistent communication with the management team and the Dementia Program staff.
• Supervises the overall duties and responsibilities of the Activity Assistants including monthly calendar, events and Volunteer Program.
• Conducts cognitive assessments on prospective and current residents translating outcomes to service plans related to care and programming.
• Ensures adequate staffing through staff scheduling
• Hires,trains, coaches, mentors and manages Caregivers and Activity Assistants
• Works collaboratively with Director of Resident Care Services to oversee nursing staff assigned to Secured Dementia
• Ensures the quality of meal organization, delivery, and service.
• Ensures complete and consistent documentation with all functions.
• Ensures a safe and secure environment for both residents and staff.
• Ensures communication and involvement with the residents’ family members through special events, scheduled meetings, and quarterly meetings.
• Provides program support including relevant research and background material for Activity Assistants, maintaining inventory of activity supplies, facilitating and trouble-shooting as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises the Memory Program staff including caregivers and Activity Assistants

PURPOSE

• Provides management of residential services including assessments, medication administration program, supervision of nursing and care staff and licensure compliance.
• Serves as liaison for residents, adult children and staff as it relates to the resident plan of care.

What You Will Do

Individual responsibilities will fall under five main areas of focus:

• Resident-Centered Care: Promotes service excellence through ensuring that staff scheduling is completed in an efficient and accurate manner. Responds to employee inquiries in an efficient, timely and service excellence focused manner. Allocates and calls in relief staff to fill vacancies resulting from unfilled positions, vacations, leaves of absences, and sick leaves in accordance with the applicable collective agreements; distributes relief staff scheduling to nursing units.
• Documentation: Accurate, comprehensive and timely documentation of staff scheduling in alignment with Bethany policies and procedures. Ensures that staff scheduling information is forwarded to payroll within the established timelines. Receives and processes requests such as vacation, leaves of absences, and terminations. Ensures that all appropriate authorization for each transaction is attained prior to processing.
• Safety: Contributes to a safe environment for residents, the team and self by understanding and adhering to safety guidelines and practices at all times.
• Pro-active Learner: Demonstrates the vision and values of Bethany and lives out the mission of Creating Caring Communities. Collaborates, communicates and shares knowledge and learning experiences with co-workers.
• Team Work: Cares for and actively participates and assists other employees to achieve and maintain a responsible atmosphere of resident centered care. Maintains effective communication, information flow and rapport between Scheduling Office, Departments, Business Office, Payroll, and Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner;
• To assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required;
• To assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each seating as required
• To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required
• To assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events
• To assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees
• To follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
• To comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures
• To be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it
• To attend in-service training as required in order to better serve the needs of the residents
• To attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in Residence that have taken place
• To participate in the Quality Improvement Program

• To complete all other tasks as assigned.

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join Bethany's Information Technology team. Reporting to the Business Solutions Manger, you will support existing software applications at Bethany. You will also partner with business and health care resources on initiatives to introduce new business processes and software into the organization. Your key responsibilities are:

• Participating in the planning, design, development, configuration, integration, service introduction, and enhancement of existing and new business and clinical applications
• Gathering functional and technical requirements through interviews, site visits, research and analysis
• Developing and documenting business cases and plans, including business, functional, and technical requirements
• Coordinating, executing and supporting application testing, such as creating test cases and scripts
• Developing training materials and documentation for educators and end users
• Performing day-to-day troubleshooting and supporting of current systems in collaboration with vendor application support teams
• Identifying and leading continuous improvement efforts within the organization

The successful applicant will ensure all aspects of safety systems, mechanical equipment and internal and external physical environments are maintained to the highest standard. The position is also responsible for the coordination and supervision of contractors, is expected to respond promptly and courteously to tenant requests, and to ensure maintenance of an established preventative maintenance program.
