KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in the development, execution and achievement of the long term strategic plan for the Retirement Residence platform.
• Develop, execute and achieve the performance goals of assigned retirement residences in alignment with the overall long-term strategy for the Retirement Residence platform.
• Support the sales process through hands on involvement and reinforcement of the organizations sales platform.
• Monitor and follow up on occupancy trends (move in’s/move out’s) to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide overall operational leadership to the assigned residence: Customer Service, Quality Improvement, Food and Beverage Services, Leisure and Residence Services, Risk Management, Health & Safety Management, Facilities Management, Human Resources Management and Financial Management.
• Ensure the operations of the assigned residence are in accordance with Support Services office policies and procedures as well as compliance with provincial legislation, regulations and standards.
• Ensure operational practices are current and in compliance with the Assisted Living Registry.
• Support major improvement initiatives to ensure optimal success in assigned residences (on scope, on time, on spec, on budget).
• Stay current in operational best practices and understand the impact to Retirement Living of changing external environment factors (competitive, regulatory, technical, etc.).
• Develop annual operating plans and capital budgets and execute, monitor, reports results and take corrective action as required.
• Lead the preparation and review of the assigned residences’ operating and capital budgets.
• Participate in the development and/or changes and enhancements to brand strategies, including promotions, advertising and communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains or achieves budgeted and/or full occupancy at all times. Reports on variances to budgeted occupancy monthly.
• Retirement Counselors will take a relationship and prospect centred selling approach to all interactions with prospective residents.
• Retirement Counselors will invest in deliberate and focused planning for prospect advances.
• Will hold primary responsibility for all sales functions including; lead management, documentation, reporting, touring/retouring and follow up.
• Develops annual marketing plan and is responsible for implementation, evaluation, and revisions based on changes in the marketplace and competitive intelligence.
• Works collaboratively with the Director of Wellness or designate to ensure appropriate new resident admission and follow up to all residents admitted to hospital to set process for their return to residence.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans, organizes, directs and supervises the work of the staff in the Maintenance, Laundry and Housekeeping departments. Establishes and maintains the standards of quality services in compliance with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Program Standards (as applicable), Retirement Homes Act and company Policies and Procedures.
• Rsponsible for the hiring, training and orientation process of all three (3) departments.
• Ensures that all Fire and Life Safety Inspections are completed and oversees scheduling, completion and follow up to all fire drills.
• Applies Quality Improvement processes.  Manages the performance index of the maintenance and operation of the facility and systems in all areas of the residence for preventative maintenance, life safety, and facility operations requirements and organizes preventative maintenance programs and documentation.
• Ensures the residence is maintained, cleaned and operated and the departments maintain the residence to the standards required for Resident care in a clean and sanitary fashion.
• Responsible to manage department budget, capital program, staff performance, quality measures and Head Office programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Recreation Assistant assists in the planning, implementing and evaluating of recreation, lifestyle and wellness services and programs to meet the various physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual and leisure interests and needs of the resident.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participates in the development and revision of departmental procedures and programs under the guidance of the Lifestyle Consultant.
• Sets up the activity area as necessary and assists in transporting residents to and from programs, if required.
• Assists in monitoring the residents' interests, needs and progress.
• Maintains program and resident records according to departmental policies.
• Regularly reports participation and feedback by residents to the Lifestyle Consultant.
• Promotes social interaction among residents in the following ways:
• Assumes leadership of assigned activities or special events.
• Assists new residents with orientation to the building and to the recreation program, and introduces them to the others within the residence.
• Promotes conversation and social interaction among residents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Server is accountable to support all aspects of hospitality style dining room service to meet the needs of the Residents in accordance with legislative requirements and company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serveries area, setting, serving and cleaning tables.
• Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef.
• Carries out general cleaning duties and routines, including scraping, washing, stacking and storage of dishes.
• Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department.
• Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a valued member of the team, the Retirement Counsellor (RC) demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality care in accordance with organization’s vision and mission. The RC is required to perform their duties in a manner consistent with the core values, ensure resident safety, and demonstrate customer service excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains or achieves budgeted and/or full occupancy at all times;
• Develops annual marketing plan and is responsible for implementation, evaluation, and revisions based on changes in the marketplace and competitive intelligence;
• Holds primary responsibility for all sales functions including; lead management, documentation, reporting, touring/retouring and follow up;
• Remains up to date with changing industry standards and trends/services and knows local competition;
• Completes a competitive analysis bi-annually and makes recommendation for accommodation rates and service changes based on this information;
• Provides hands-on support and planning for open houses and special events;
• Works collaboratively with all departments to ensure smooth new resident admission, promotional events, and creative follow up requests;
• Assists in the development of the marketing budget including all advertising and promotional costs; reviews advertising plan with the management team on at least a quarterly basis, making adjustments as needed;
• Ensures that all expenditures are tracked and reconciled with approved marketing budget.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: 

In addition to performance of the aforementioned responsibilities, the RC may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the site General Manager, based upon the particular requirements of the site. These may include (but are not limited to):

• Holds primary responsibility for and collaborates with the Office Manager on all new resident move-in;
• Provides team members training for marketing, tours and customer service and directly supports the reception team members in this regard;
• Ensures that residence and model suites are “tour ready” at all times – liaises with Environmental Manager and General Manager to address any deficiencies;
• Works collaboratively with all department managers to maximize the success of marketing and sales events and ensuring that all aspects of the community are ready for new residents moving in.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager/Retirement Counsellor is responsible to maintain or achieve full occupancy at all times. The Retirement Counsellor ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of a facility marketing plan; staff training on customer service and lease-up procedures; building tour readiness and provides coordination of promotional activities within the residence including community linkages.

• Retirement Counselors will take a relationship and prospect centered selling approach to all interactions with prospective residents.
• Retirement Counsellors will invest in deliberate and focused planning for prospect advances.
• Will hold primary responsibility for all sales functions including; lead management, documentation, reporting, touring/retouring and follow up.
• Develops annual marketing plan and is responsible for implementation, evaluation, and revisions based on changes in the marketplace and competitive intelligence.
• Works collaboratively with the Director of Wellness or designate to ensure appropriate new resident admission and follow up to all residents admitted to hospital to set process for their return to residence.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Concierge is responsible for promoting excellent customer service in all personal interactions with visitors, families, residents and staff. This position provides clerical support to all managers, and has a key role in the marketing and security of the building.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responds to all resident and visitor enquiries as their first priority in a diplomatic manner, utilizing problem solving and complaint resolution skills and ensures all complaints are forwarded to the General Manager in writing.
• Greets all visitors to the building and ensures that their needs are addressed in a pleasant and unhurried fashion and conducts mini tours in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Provides clerical and computer support to all managers as requested.
• Completes required records to support cash transactions related to the sale of guest and staff meal vouchers / tickets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job summary:

The Food & Beverage Manager is accountable to manage all aspects of the food and beverage department through effective planning, direction and control, to meet the nutritional needs of the residents in accordance with legislative requirements and the organization standards.
 
Key responsabilities (but not limited to):

• Plans, co-ordinates, directs, and monitors the effectiveness of all food and beverage activities in the residence to meet the organization and Hospitality Style Dining Service expectations.
• Develops and conducts in-service programs and ensures all staff is trained in safe food handling techniques.
• Recruits, supervises, coaches and mentors departmental employees.
• Oversees all expenditures to ensure the department operates within budgetary guidelines and takes action on variances to bring expenditures in line with budget.
• Acts in a leadership capacity to foster good working relationships with relevant persons within Public Health.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job summary:

The Dietary Aide is accountable to support all aspects of optimal food service to meet the needs of the residents in accordance with infection control, quality management, legislative requirements and the organization standards.

Key responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Follows proper food handling techniques. Dates, labels, and stores food properly. Keeps work area clean and uncluttered, and completes scheduled cleaning duties. Maintains cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room, and storage areas.
• Assists in the preparation of meals, serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and food preferences, using proper portion sizes.
• Taking orders for the first and second menu choices from residents (by resident name and preference selection, following likes and dislikes).
• Assists in serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and food preferences, using proper portion sizes.
• Setting and clearing tables in the dining rooms and washing/sanitizing tables, chairs, serveries.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job summary:

The Chef is accountable for optimal foods services, food production, plate presentation and the hospitality needs of the residents in accordance with infection control, quality management, legislative requirements and the organization standards.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• This non-union position reports to the Dietary Manager
• Prepare and cook high quality meals, follow therapeutic and textured diets, using standardized menu/recipes and production sheets daily
• Assist in the planning and managing of catering functions
• Complete food orders and manage inventory on going
• Responsibilities include planning, supervising, and coordinatingactivities necessary for the daily management of the dietary department
• Follows daily production charts, standardized recipes and daily composite menus, while working within a set budget.
